Grammy Awards

'Grammy' is short for Gramaphone. In the early 1900's, the predecessor to the modern day Grammys was the National Gramaphone and Strongman Awards. This is because 80% of early radio programming was live-action strongman competitions, which were recorded on wax cylinders for historical purposes.
